Guys.
I. Am. Drowning.
As if pallets of action figures weren’t already filling my garage, Target and Walmart are really enjoying sending their orders one item at a time in their own box.
Here is a picture of my kitchen currently:
Yes, even my kitchen has become a Q4 battle station… so I hope I have a little leniency with the lack of articles and content over the last seven days.
Actually, I don’t really feel too guilty about not posting much this week.
Because at last, my final 2024 LEGO overview was released.
Technically, the money you can make from that article should be able to pay for your Toys to Retirement subscription for years to come. I know it’s going to make me tens of thousands of dollars over the next year — how about you?
Allegedly only 46% of my subscribers have actually viewed the article so uhhh… get to it.
Non-LEGO toys…
I know, I know. Toys to Retirement may make it seem like I only buy LEGO, but I promise I buy other toys too. LEGO is just a higher priority at the end of the year than other toys because of the retirement schedule and sales.
With that being said, I’ll be getting out a video this weekend (hopefully) about how I’m positioning myself to profit off NON-LEGO toys in the final month and a half of Q4.
It will be in video format because I really don’t think text translates this sort of information as well. I encourage you guys to read these articles before tuning into the video when it comes out:
A quick poll…
I have to ask. Your answer is anonymous, I won’t be offended.
As mentioned above, I think video recordings provide much better insight than text and are better at expressing certain points. I think anyone who watched my LEGO analysis videos over the last month is likely to have made a lot more profitable purchases in the last two weeks than those who only read the text.
Tip of the Week #3
Did you know ordering UPS pickups from Pirate Ship (www.pirateship.com) is more than 50% cheaper than ordering through UPS directly (may vary by location)? I waited way too long before I started doing this and my pickups went from almost $14 down to $6.
At one pickup per week, this tip is saving me over $400 a year.
What a coincidence, those savings also cover your Toys to Retirement subscription for the year. Noticing a trend in this article?
This trick won’t make you rich, but our business is all about finding these little optimizations that add up and inch us closer to retirement — year by year.
Some box office news and rumors…
Rumors are circling that if Sonic the Hedgehog 3 performs well at the box office next month (it will), that Shadow may be receiving his own TV series or spin-off movie. Imagine the toy sales for that… wow-za. Also it has allegedly been confirmed that we will be seeing an unannounced character at the end of the film to setup the next one. Metal Sonic? Amy? Rouge? Silver? Any of these would be a welcome surprise — more characters means more merch!
The Penguin TV series on HBO Max has finally concluded. What an absolute ride. Pure cinema and truly is helping cement that this new Batman universe is here to stay. While I don’t expect any Penguin-specific merch to crush it in the sales department, I do think this show has built a new level of excitement for the next installment in the franchise on the big screen. Also, rumor has it we may be getting additional spin-off shows for other characters in the universe. Again — more characters means more merch!
Marvel’s head of TV confirmed this week that The Punisher will have a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe past the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again TV series. This further leads me to believe that we’ll be getting more street-level hero content from Disney — usually much better received by audiences than cosmic heroes like Captain Marvel or the Eternals. Hopefully more well-designed characters are planned such as Ghost Rider and Moon Knight, so that we have lots of potentially profitable figures to invest in.
Alright guys, gonna wrap it up here. Tune in this weekend for the video mentioned above, and keep grinding! Two weeks from Black Friday…
Do you do all your storing, prepping and shipping from your house? Not sure if you’ve made and article yet about that yet but that would be interesting to hear your process there.
